I will have to try your cookies. They look amazing! I am always up for a new ccc recipe!

Jennifer S.

My mouth is watering, these look amazing! Is it too early in the morning to bake off some dough I have?

megan

you've convinced me. I've got to try these. I'm on a search for a slightly thick, chewy chocolate chip cookie. This one looks perfect. I can't wait to try it!

Jen @ My Kitchen Addiction

Yum! Your chocolate cookies look *amazing*... I will have to put a lock on my fridge some evening so that I can force myself to let them marinate!

Tamar@StarvingofftheLand

This recipe is like those experiments they do with little kids where they can have one marshmallow now, but if they can wait half an hour, they get two. You can have pretty good cookies RIGHT NOW, or you can wait overnight and have the best cookies that ever walked the earth. Arrrgh!

Winnie

These look really fabulous!

Talia

I have been looking for a new chocolate chip cookie recipe!
As for the marinating time: we have a weird situation with a batch of half made cookie dough in our freezer that has been sitting for i won't even tell you how long: I'm going to pretend it was deliberate and actually make them some time very soon! (I'll need freezer space for your cookie dough!)

Gail

You had me at chocolate chip cookie! And, I'm so tickled that you like "dry aged"! I'm definitely adding this recipe to my roster

Kate @ Savour Fare

I agree that everyone has their personal favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. Personally, I have about 5. But of course the one I have memorized is the one I grew up with, which is more of a hearty, snack of a cookie rather than chocolate forever.

merry jennifer

I'm bookmarking this page for future reference. These look great, and I think I'll look for the chocolate discs you use. Thanks for sharing your years of hard work with us! :)

amy

i think one can never have too many chocolate chip cookies but once you find "the one", it's the one! i am glad you found yours:) thanks for sharing!

Divina

My nephew is asking me to teach him how to bake. I would love to try this recipe. Too tempting just by looking at it.

Jennifer @ Milk & Honey Mommy

Jennifer,

I have been on a continuous search for that perfect chocolate chip cookie, the one that leaves the delicious taste I've craved. I can't really explain it, but I'll know it when I taste it. When making any cookies, I too have left the cookie dough in the refrigerator without really knowing why other than the cookies tasted better after doing so.

Thanks for your recipe. My kids and I will give it a try next week when we study the state of MA, which is the cookie of that state.

Adele

i was just wondering what it was about keeping it in the fridge overnight made them better.

laura

These look great. Any chance you'll share where you get your chocolate discs??? Hopefully somewhere nearby in Brooklyn.

Jennie

Laura, the chocolate discs I mention can be found at Sahadi's on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights. You have to promise and tell me if you're in the neighborhood!

Kim

Was wondering if the baking time should be adjusted if using frozen cookie dough. Thanks!

Jennie

Kim—From what I remember the baking time is pretty much the same but I must confess I didn't note it for the frozen dough, so my suggestion is to bake one tray with the directed time as a test.

Libra1007

I am curious as to what type of flour you used in your recipe. They look divine.

Jennie

Libra - the cookies in the photo were made with all-purpose flour. I buy a few different varieties which you can read about in the pantry basics section http://www.injennieskitchen.com/pantry-basics.html

Mommylisa

I am now loyal to a fellow bloggers foul-mouth named chocolate chip cookies. But these may need a trial run.

Mandy (Mandy's Recipe Box)

Wow. I am definately making these babies! Thanks for sharing the secret : )

pennylove

I'm making these right now. I just realized that this is the first cookie recipe I have ever made without brown sugar. Now I'm a little nervous. LOL, I will trust you. BTW, I added pecans to my recipe.

Puppydogs

Can you tell me if the cookies should be baked when the dough is cold or room temp?

I have made them and they are Wonderful! However, I had to cook them for 19 minutes because the dough was stone cold....it was hard to scoop.

Do you scoop the dough into balls then fridge overnight?

thanks so much for this!

Kyle WRight

What a great recipe! I've never used molasses in my chocolate chip cookies. Will have to try.

This may be perhaps a stupid question: I remember my mom used to make and freeze her dough in logs and then just slice off discs and cook them. I remember them tasting delicious, but her's always had butter + crisco, making it bake a bit differently. Would the "slice and bake" work for these?

Just a little more space saving in my tiny Hell's Kitchen fridge :-)

Can't wait to make these :-)
