You're right, they are a good use for day old bread. I never think to make them. Usually my day-old bread goes in the trash :( I haven't sauteed them either- what a nice idea!

I really need to get a skillet already! Those croutons look so delicious and so simple. I love croutons in soup, that textural contrast is so pleasing!

You can't go wrong with croutons. A cast iron skillet makes it even better. Now that we've learned how to season a cast iron pan, it's nice to explore the options and see what you can do with them.
